Our season is expected to start May 20 and run through to the end of September depending on weather.

CLUB BOWLS: All members have access to the club’s inventory of Bowls at no cost, so no need to purchase bowls if you do not already own a set. Bowlers will need to wear soft, flat soled shoes that have minimal grip patterns, or go barefoot.

LESSONS are provided for new bowlers to get everyone comfortable with basic play and technique. An introductory lesson is $20.00 which is deducted from your membership fee if you decide to join. We have drop in sessions scheduled for introductory lessons on May 20, 26, and 27, at 6:30 PM.

The weekly Monday night (6:30 PM) social league is also a new bowlers league and starts June 2 this year. It is a drop in league, so there is no commitment to attend each week. For the month of June, someone will be available to offer lessons and pointers on Monday Nights to help you gain skills and confidence to play and to join in other leagues. It’s best to show up about 6:00 PM so that games and lessons can start at 6:30.

June 2, is the start the season’s regularly scheduled leagues, Saturday afternoon Jitneys, morning drop-in sessions. Other special events and fun club tournaments will be scheduled throughout the season. There are also open times where members can play or practise on their own.

Please check the Event Calendar on the website for details and updates on drop ins, leagues and events, and open time.

The Club does not run without volunteers, and we are asking all members to commit to volunteering with the Club. Volunteering is a great way for new and returning members to get to know one another and to gain an appreciation for the Club and its activities. Volunteer activities can range from helping on game days or with special events to serving on committees that are responsible for organizing and maintaining the Club. Key areas of participation have been identified on the registration form for you to nominate your area of interest.

CLBC Fee Waiver Policy

For people whose curent situation makes payment of fees a hardship, CLBC has a policy to waive or reduce fees. If you feel this might apply to you please contact president@calgarylawnbowlingclub.ca
