As our season begins to wind down, here is what has happened recently or is still to come:
Saturday Sept 2nd was a Trophy Day, we played for the Lorne Stout Trophy which began at 10:30am and bowlers played 3 games (the first one 10 ends and the last 2 will be 8 ends).
Monday Sept 4th was our Tea & Jitney where we invited all the other clubs and had afternoon tea between the games. It was a fun day for all involved!
Saturday Sept 23rd will be our closing banquet and prize giving. The banquet will begin at 5pm and will go rain or shine. If the weather allows there will be a jitney in the afternoon as usual. The cost for the banquet is $35 and this year that will include one ticket for a free drink of your choice. The menu is posted on the wall at the club. Since we need to give the caterer final numbers please buy your ticket before Sept 17th. Tickets will be available at the club starting this Monday. After dinner we will hand out the prize money for all the leagues as well as for the Trophies we have had this year.
Saturday Sept 30th will be our Annual Meeting at 11am.
Congratulations to those members who won medals at the Nationals in Victoria – great job!!!
Our Novice group again has the honour of having the final club tournament of the season Sunday September 17 and we hope you will attend! Please note the date had to change since we are now down to one green.
We will run a Pairs or Triples (depending on final numbers) Jitney format to accommodate having only one green this year playing three games with six ends each. To be included in the draw you will need to have your tag on the table by 11:45.
Entry fee is $5 per person to cover the cost of food. We plan to BBQ burgers and hot dogs (served at the conclusion), with light snacks between rounds. Please let me know if you have any special requests due to food allergies or the like.
In order to get the correct amount of food ordered, please sign up on the sheet posted on the wall.
Enjoy the rest of the season!
